Forward Martin Necas and the Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a two year, $13 million contract, according to an announcement by the team.
Necas came into the offseason as an RFA with arbitration rights, and a hearing was scheduled to determine a contract for next season. He had been the subject of trade rumors all offseason to this point, but he'll be in Raleigh for another two years. He'll make $6.5 million annually for the next two seasons and can become a UFA after the 2025-2026 season.

Carolina GM Eric Tulsky said of signing Necas in a statement "Martin is an immensely skilled player who provides a scoring threat whenever the puck is on his stick. He will play a key role in the continued success of our franchise, and we’re excited to have a multiyear contract done."
In 2022-2023, Necas set career highs in goals, assists, and points with a 28 goal, 43 assist, 71 point season while splitting time at center and on the wing. Last season, Necas spent the whole year on the wing. He has never scored less than 10 goals in a full NHL season.
Necas has played in 5 full seasons and parts of two more as a first round pick of the Hurricanes in 2017.
