Series tied 2-2
Just like that, we have a brand new series. Wyatt Johnston scored, Evgenii Dadonov had a goal, and the Dallas Stars defeated the Vegas Golden Knights with a 4-2 victory Monday night in Las Vegas.

The Stars have won two straight game to tie the series 2-2 through 4 games. The road team through the 4 games played is undefeated, which creates an interesting situation with the Stars having home ice advantage in two of the final 3 possible games.

Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger said of coming back in the series that "It’s not surprising to anyone in this room. We felt good about our game in Dallas, it just didn’t go the way we wanted to. Series go a million different ways. It’s not always how you draw it up. Teams have back from down 3-0, 3-1. It’s not over unless you give up. No one in here is giving up."

Michael Amadio started the scoring in this one, giving the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead on his first goal of the playoffs. With 2:08 left in the first period, Dadonov scored his first goal of the playoffs to even the score 1-1. Jack Eichel scored 3:09 into the second period for the Golden Knights, giving them a 2-1 lead on his 3rd goal of the playoffs.

At the 9:45 mark of the second, Johnston scored a power play goal for the Stars, tying the game 2-2 on his 3rd goal of the playoffs. With 1:26 left in the period, Ty Dellandrea scored his first goal of the playoffs to give the Stars a 3-2 lead. The only goal of the 3rd period came from Roope Hintz, who scored on an empty net to make it a 4-2 final.

Getting the start for the Stars was Jake Oettinger, who picked up his second straight win as the series became tied. Oettinger made 32 saves on the 34 shots the Golden Knights sent his way, good for a .941 save percentage.

Dallas head coach Pete Deboer said of Oettinger's game that "When he gets in that zone, he's a really tough guy to beat. I like how our group is playing around him and defending around him. But you know, we bent a little bit tonight. You knew they were going to push back, and you know, he made some critical saves at key times. So, we're going to need that. He's got to be one of our best players, but I feel like he's in that zone."

Making the start for the Golden Knights for the 4th straight game was Logan Thompson, who lost his second straight game. Thompson turned aside 28 out of the 31 shots on goal the Stars tested him with, recording a .903 save percentage.

Vegas forward Jonathan Marchessault said of the loss that "We lost the momentum a little bit in second period. They got their power-play goal, and after that they generated another power play. They were able to get a goal in the last two minutes. So, I think that's an unfortunate bounce. But I mean, it's momentum swings in the playoffs, and I don't think we managed that well today."

The series shifts back to Dallas for game 5, set for Wednesday night. With the series knotted 2-2, both teams will try to take the decisive 3-2 series lead on the other ahead of game 6.
