This team has proven to be a pesky bunch. Sean Walker scored, Joel Farabee had a goal and an assist, and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Vancouver Canucks with a 4-1 victory on Thursday night in Vancouver.

Despite having dropped two straight games prior to this one, the Flyers still have points in 11 of their last 12 games, with a 8-1-3 record in that stretch. It's still giving them a second place spot in the Metropolitan Division at 19-11-4 so far.

Farabee said of the win that "We played patient, waited for our opportunities. You get a couple of quick ones, it builds that momentum, and you go from there. Really like how our group played coming off the break. It would be easy to play loose and not play our system, but I really felt like every guy was pulling on the rope."

After a scoreless first period, Egor Zamula scored late in the second period, making it a 1-0 Flyers lead with a power play goal. 1:21 later, Walker lit the lamp to double the Flyers lead to 2-0 on his 4th goal of the season. 45 seconds after that, Farabee scored his 12th goal of the season to push the lead to 3-0 after two periods.

Just 25 seconds into the 3rd period, the Canucks ended the shutout bid. Teddy Blueger got it done, scoring his 5th goal of the season with assists from Quinn Hughes and Dakota Joshua. With the Flyers shorthanded 5:01 into the period, Garnet Hathaway scored his 4th goal of the season to make it 4-1, with the lone assist going to Ryan Poehling.

Zamula said of his power play goal that "I think it's a most dangerous shot from up top, so I tried to put puck on the net and I see a couple guys in front, the traffic, and it goes in and this goal I think help all team play better, and we just scored more after that."

Getting the start for the Flyers was Samuel Ersson, who improved to 9-4-2 in 14 starts with a win. Ersson stopped all but one of the 19 shots he saw, good for a .947 save percentage before he departed due to dehydration. Carter Hart came on in the 3rd and stopped all 8 shots he faced.

Starting for the Canucks on the other end of the ice was Casey DeSmith, who took the loss to drop to 6-3-2 in 11 starts. DeSmith turned aside 21 out of the 25 shots on goal the Flyers sent his way, recording a .840 save percentage.

Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said of the loss that "We weren't invested. They came at us and we didn’t have any push. In the second I thought we came back a little back and then that five-minute implosion. It’s going to get harder and harder. This is a learning lesson. We’ve got to be more invested in the game."

The Flyers face the Seattle Kraken on Friday night as they conclude a back to back, with Hart set to get the start. The Canucks get back in action on Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators, with Thatcher Demko the expected starter.
