They came out determined and ready, and got the job done. Jason Robertson had a goal and an assist, Tyler Seguin had two goals and an assist, and the Dallas Stars defeated the Los Angeles Kings with a 4-0 shutout victory on Thursday night in Los Angeles.

With the win, the Stars moved into first place in the entire Western Conference with 61 points, with a 27-13-7 record. They did so after blowing a 3-0 lead to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night, ending the game with a disappointing 5-3 loss.

Seguin said of the bounce back that "We rebound well. I don't know what's going on with our schedule, but it feels like we've been away for a while. I think we're all ready to get home. I thought that was a huge thing for us tonight, talking about that and saying this is the last one on the road for a while, so that was big for us."

It was in fact Seguin who started the scoring for the Stars, with Robertson and Joe Pavelski assisting on his 13th goal of the season, coming 6:54 into the game. At the 17:20 mark of the first, Seguin struck again for the Stars, this time scoring unassisted to double the lead to a 2-0 margin on his second goal of the night.

Just 1:44 after Seguin's second goal, Esa Lindell scored for the Stars, extending the lead to 3-0 with Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston assisting, making it 3-0 after one period. Robertson scored his 31st goal of the season 7:27 into the second period to make the score 4-0. There would be no more pucks in the back of the net after that.

After the game, Robertson said that "I think once we got our lead, we didn’t really shrink from that. Our penalty kill was outstanding. Wedgie also. We just kept with it and kind of squeezed the game out."

Getting the start in goal for the Stars was Scott Wedgewood, who started the second end of a back to back and played exceptionally. He recorded his first shutout of the season with a 34 save effort, increasing his record to 7-6-3 in 16 games.

The Kings sent Pheonix Copley out to get the start, and he got shelled. Copley allowed 4 goals on 17 shots, getting the loss to fall to 12-3-0 in 15 starts. He was pulled after Robertson's goal in favor of Jonathan Quick, who stopped all 7 shots he faced.

Los Angeles head coach Todd McClellan said of the loss postgame that "There’s no way that team down the hallway with the leaders and coach they have are going give up a three-goal lead in back-to-back games. We created our own self-inflicted misery early and tried to find our game as the game wore on."

Up next, the Stars return home for a Saturday night tilt with the Arizona Coyotes, with Jake Oettinger expected to start. The Kings hit the road to face the Nashville Predators, with Copley in line to start.
