You may beat them once, but you probably won't beat them twice. Patrice Bergeron scored, Jake Debrusk scored the game winning goal, and the Boston Bruins defeated the Vegas Golden Knights with a 3-1 victory on Sunday night in Vegas.

After losing to the Golden Knights at home on Monday and the Arizona Coyotes on Friday, the Bruins picked up where they left off after Wednesday's win, winning their 7th in 10 games. 8 different skaters recorded a point for the Bruins, with no one tallying two points.

Bruins winger Taylor Hall said of the bounce back win that "We needed to reset. It was a tough ending to the game, a game that we thought we played pretty well, and have a short memory. A building that's not easy to play in and a team that has motivation to beat us."

The first goal of the game came from Mark Stone, giving Vegas a 1-0 lead with a power play goal 4:03 into the game, with assists coming from Chandler Stephenson and Ben Hutton. No scoring came until Bergeron found the back of the net 3:54 into the second period, tying the game 1-1 on his 10th goal of the season.

Boston scored the game winner early in the 3rd period, with Hall and Pavel Zacha assisting on the game winning goal from Debrusk 2:10 into the period, making it 2-1 Bruins. Charlie Coyle scored 9:04 into the 3rd period for the Bruins, padding the lead to 3-1 with the lone assist going to Derek Forbort, Coyle's 8th goal.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said of the win that "A point of ours, we want to win every series against teams we played. It's funny. Vegas is a really good team and well coached. They're a real good first period team. We fell behind 1-0. That was a big point of emphasis for us, but we knew 1-1 in the third period, we knew we were the best team in the third period in the League."

Drawing the start in goal for the Bruins was Linus Ullmark, who stopped 30 straight shots after the first shot beat him. Ullmark posted a .968 save percentage as his record improved to 16-1-0 in 18 starts for the Bruins this year.

Starting in goal for the Golden Knights was Logan Thompson, who ended up being the loser in this one. Thompson stopped 24 out of the 27 shots on goal the Bruins sent at him, recording a .889 save percentage as his record dropped to 13-7-0.

Vegas head coach Bruce Cassidy said that "We were good. We were fine. They made the play when they had the opportunity, we didn't, they get the two points. Our guys can feel good about their effort and compete against a good hockey club, but when you lose, there are no moral victories in that regard."

Up next, both teams resume action on Tuesday night. The Bruins welcome the New York Islanders to town, with Jeremy Swayman listed as the projected starter. Thompson is the expected starter for the Golden Knights when they take on the Winnipeg Jets.
