We now know who will be inducted into forever fame in the Hockey world. Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Roberto Luongo, Daniel Alfredsson, Riikka Sallinen, and Herb Carnegie will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2022.

Candidates to get into the Hall of Fame have to receive at least 75 percent of the vote among ballots from the selection committee to be inducted. 4 male players, two female players, two builders, or one builder and one referee may be inducted each year. This year, we have 4 male players, one female, and one builder.

The Sedin twins enter the Hall in their first year of eligibility. Both twins spent their entire 17 year careers with the Vancouver Canucks. Henrik leads the Canucks in points, assists, and games played, and is a two time all star, to go with winning the Art Ross Trophy and the Hart Trophy in 2010. Daniel won the Art Ross and Ted Lindsay awards in 2011, and leads the Canucks in goals with 393.

Also getting in on his first season of eligibility is Luongo, who played with the Sedins in Vancouver. Luongo has suited up for the Canucks, New York Islanders, and Florida Panthers. In between the pipes, Luongo ranks 4th on the all time wins list with 489 wins.

Luongo has more accolades as well, winning the Vezina Trophy 3 times and was the runner up for the Hart Trophy in 2007. Luongo has a career .919 save percentage and has 77 shutouts, and has won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics with team Canada.

Also getting in was Alfredsson, who had been eligible for induction since 2017. Alfredsson spent all but one of his 18 seasons with the Ottawa Senators, being a longtime captain in Ottawa. He finished his career with 1,157 points in 1,246 games, and took home the Calder Trophy in 2006. He won Olympic gold in the 2006 Olympics, and silver in the 2014 Olympics.

The only female player inducted this year is Sallinen. She played with the Finland national team for 16 years, taking home 12 medals across various international tournaments. She was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2010, and took home a Bronze medal in the 2018 Olympics, becoming the oldest hockey Olympian to get a medal.

Finally, Carnegie is getting inducted into the Hall of Fame as a builder, never making the NHL despite putting up strong numbers in the minor leagues. Carnegie is a builder because he started Future Aces, which was one of Canada's first hockey schools. He was inducted into the Canada sports Hall of Fame in 2001, and will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame posthumously.

The Hockey Hall of Fame class of 2022 will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario, in November of 2022.
