Montreal leads series 2-1
The Montreal Canadiens were not supposed to win game 3. Sometimes, that's just how Hockey works. Cole Caufield scored, Josh Anderson scored the tying and winning goals, and the Canadiens defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 in overtime in game 3 on Friday night.

Anderson said "We had a press late in the third period there, and obviously we got a fortunate bounce on the tying goal. And then in OT it looked like we had a lot more energy than them. We came out hard and found a way, in a huge game that we needed to win."

Carey Price was another big contributor for the Canadiens, and a big reason why they were even in the game to begin with, never mind win. Price stopped a whopping 43 out of 45 shots, for a .956 save percentage in game 3, giving Montreal a 2-1 series lead against Vegas.

Canadiens captain Shea Weber said of Price that "He was unbelievable. He's a huge reason why we've been so successful, and it was no different tonight. I thought we weren't very good to start. They made a point to have a good start, and they were definitely better than us. I thought we got better as the game went on, but without Carey, we wouldn't have had a chance to do what we did."

Caufield started the scoring 3:54 into the second period, with his second career playoff goal giving the Canadiens a tie game, 1-1. With 1:55 remaining in the game, Anderson scored his second goal of the playoffs, tying the game 2-2. 12:53 into overtime, Anderson scored again on a turnover by Vegas, capping the comeback for the Canadiens.

Marc-Andre Fleury started for Vegas, saving 24 of 27 shots across regulation and OT, for a .889 save percentage, before his crucial giveaway to Anderson in OT, which gave Montreal the win. At the time, the Golden Knights were outshooting Montreal 39-17 in the 3rd period and OT.

Vegas coach Pete Deboer said "Those type of events are tough to recover from. We talked between the third and the overtime about trying to get our mojo back. I didn't think we were poor in overtime, but there's no doubt that carried into the overtime for us a little on the negative side and for sure gave them some pop going out to overtime."

Nicolas Roy started the scoring for the Golden Knights, giving them a 1-0 lead at 3:16 of the second period, with his 3rd goal of the playoffs. Alex Pietrangelo then gave Vegas a 2-1 lead with his 4th of the playoffs, coming 2:22 into the 3rd period.

Game 4 is on Sunday night, with the Canadiens looking to take a 3-1 series lead on Vegas, and the Golden Knights are looking to tie the series at 2-2.
