Toronto leads series 2-1
In game 3 against the Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Maple Leafs leaned on a few guys in particular. Forward William Nylander and goalie Jack Campbell. Nylander scored, Campbell was stellar in net, and the Maple Leafs defeated the Canadiens with a 2-1 win Monday night.

Campbell had another fantastic performance in goal for Toronto, saving 28 of 29 shots. Campbell's performance helped the Maple Leafs take a 2-1 series lead against Montreal. 14 of Campbell's saves came in the 3rd period as Montreal attempted to come back, but Campbell was up to the challenge.

Nylander was very complimentary of Campbell after the game 3 win, saying "Campbell was unbelievable. The work he put in before the playoffs started shows what it takes to compete at this level. He's been unbelievable for us, a huge part of our team."

Nylander gave Toronto a 1-0 lead 7:18 into the second period, thanks to his 3rd goal of the playoffs in 3 games. Nick Suzuki then scored for Montreal to tie the game at 1-1 with just over 6 minutes remaining in the second. Just under 3 minutes later, Morgan Rielly gave the Maple Leafs a 2-1 lead with his first goal of the playoffs. Campbell then did the rest.

Toronto head coach Sheldon Keefe said of Nylander's hot streak that "He's playing a real nice complete game here. It's obviously huge for us. You look at losing Tavares, and then you lose Foligno, two guys that Will started out with on a line, and he's just continued on, produced, and played hard and given us real good shifts."

Carey Price got the loss for the Canadiens, still saving 27 of 29 shots in the defeat, including an unreal stick save on what was a wide open net, robbing Jason Spezza of a goal in the first period. The offense failed Price once again, however, only scoring once, for a grand total of 4 goals in 3 games.

Price said "I'm not frustrated at all, to be honest. I believe in these guys. These guys are talented guys, I see their shots in practice every day and I have no doubt that they have the ability to score a goal. They're trying out there, I know they are, and it's going to come. They're playing pretty solid defense on their side, but we're going to find a way to get through that. Their goaltender is playing well, we're going to have to make it more difficult for him."

Game 4 of the series is tonight, with Price and Campbell starting.
