Ever since the Boston Bruins traded for Taylor Hall and put him on a line with David Krejci, both players have seen big increases on the scoreboard, particularly Hall. Both players got on the board against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hall scored his 6th goal of the season, Krejci got his 7th, and the Bruins topped the Penguins with a 3-1 win Tuesday night.

Krejci started the scoring in the second period, scoring with 1:50 remaining in the second to make it 1-0 Bruins after two periods. 9:11 into the 3rd period, Brad Marchand scored his 26th goal of the season for the Bruins, and 3:07 later, Hall scored to make it 3-0 Bruins quickly. Jeff Carter later scored for the Penguins to make it 3-1, but that was all they could manage.

Krejci talked about the game plan against the Penguins, saying that "We addressed some things before the game. Obviously, we know where we're at in the standings, what's going on around us. We talked about some stuff. For the most part, we stuck to the game plan and did exactly what we talked about."

Tuukka Rask continued his strong play since returning from injury in the win for the Bruins, stopping 25 of 26 shots to earn the win, including some big stops at the end of the first period. Rask improved his already strong record to 12-4-2 this season, while the Bruins remain in 4th in the East Division, just one point out of 3rd, with a 28-14-6 record.

Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said of the win that "There was a lot to like tonight from everybody to be honest with you. We played a good, determined game. Our top guys did the finishing tonight. Our bottom guys did a lot of the dirty work, the grunt work. The physicality, it's a good formula for us."

Tristan Jarry got the start for the Penguins in goal, and took the loss despite putting up solid numbers, stopping 28 of 31 shots in the defeat. The Penguins slid from first in the East down to second with the loss, with a 32-15-3 record. Jarry's record dropped to 21-9-3 with the defeat.

Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said of the loss that "I think when the stakes are high like this, both teams have a lot on the line. Boston, obviously, give them credit. They had a strong response game. They played hard. I don't think we were at our best, but having said that, I thought we were competing. But we were right there."

The Bruins look to keep the good times going against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, with Jaroslav Halak expected to start for Boston. The Penguins face the Washington Capitals on Thursday, with Jarry expected to start once again.
