After the start of the Dallas Stars season got delayed due to Covid-19 cases, the team is back like they didn't miss a beat. Anton Khudobin stopped 15 shots, the offense scored 3 power play goals, and the Stars beat the Nashville Predators by a 3-2 score on Sunday night. This win for Dallas wasn't as convincing as their 7-0 blowout of Nashville on opening night, but a win is a win, and that's what Dallas needs.

Denis Gurianov converted first on the power play for the Stars, tallying a goal at 14:55 of the first period. At 6:32 of the second, Roope Hintz scored the second power play goal to make it 2-0 Stars. At 14:55, Filip Forsberg struck on the power play for Nashville to cut the Dallas lead to 2-1. At 4:51 of the 3rd, Joe Pavelski scored on the power play to make it 3-1 Stars. Mikael Granlund scored at 9:59 for Nashville to get back to one goal down, but they couldn't muster anything after that.

Stars coach Rick Bowness said of the team's potent power play that "They are snapping it around. Right now, they are feeling it. They are making great plays, clearly, and the puck is going in, which is certainly beneficial. Right now, you can just feel the confidence that they have. They are moving for each other."

Stars defensemen John Klingberg said of the offensive attack that "What we're doing so well is, yeah we move the puck, but we think that we can attack in different ways: Shooting from the points, having seam plays, coming down low, it's a lot of different options there, and I feel like the breakouts and the entries, we have a lot of options there, too."

Granlund, who scored the second goal for Nashville, said that "We played a good third period, we had our chances to tie it up, but at the end of the day, I don't think we played good enough for our first two periods. We've got to get better on the penalty kill, and that cost us this game. It was a good third period, but we've got to find a way to win these games."

Predators coach John Hynes talked about the team's performance after the game, saying that "There's certain things we have to get better at. Our special teams again, it's the difference in the game, so that has to be a focus coming in. I think we just have to evaluate certain parts of our game, go back to the video and look at what it is, and then I think the other one is just player impact, what players are or are not making impacts in the game."

The Predators head back home as they welcome the Chicago Blackhawks to town on Tuesday night, while Dallas hosts the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.
